Located in a beautiful landscape, in the valley Zwölfmorgental in Wernigerode/Harz, the Hotel & Restaurant Schanzenhaus offers its guests comfortable and modern accommodation. The hotel was
opened in 2005 and enjoys a calm location within 15 minutes walking distance to the town centre of Wernigerode. We offer our guests 43 modern rooms. All of them provide shower, toilet and TV. Some
rooms have a balcony with pretty views to the enchanting valley or to the castle. Our hotel is accessible for disabled guests since all floors can conveniently be reached by a lift. In the morning we
serve you a sumptuous breakfast buffet and to cater for everyone´s taste, the restaurant treats you with regional dishes, fish, venison and vegetarian dishes. Our guests can take advantage of our
sauna and of a fitness room where they can enhance their fitness and lose a bit of weight. On request we may also arrange for a sauna visit with aroma infusion and candlelight. The valley
Zwölfmorgental is a popular winter sport area with many ski slopes, cross country ski runs, and a ski jump that has lent its name to the hotel. Wernigerode is a colourful town in the Harz region with
a lot of attractions like museums, mines, a colourful market square etc. The glassworks in Derenburg offers you the possibility to watch the glass blower working and to participate in the glass
blowing process or in the creation of a glass object.
